#1. Use A Focus Keyword
It’s not a new thing to mention that keyword research is one of the most important aspects to get higher SERP. You should use the tools like Google keyword planner.
The best and the easiest way to use the Google hints. For beginners, the concept of keyword research can be overwhelming that’s why Google hints are the best.
Add that keyword in your Yoast SEO plugin.
Don’t add just one word as a keyword. Google loves long tail keywords so try to explore it.
#2. The Title of Your Blog Post
Your blog post title is what sees in the search engine results. With a quick glance to the title, readers decide whether they want to read the content or not.
You should keep the length between 53 to 60 characters. It’s because Google doesn’t show the longer title in the search engine results.
You can check its SEO score using the Yoast SEO plugin. If the line is green, you’re good to go. Don’t forget to add the keyword in the title.
I hope you know how to write a headline which can convert and the headline mistakes people make.
If possible, add it in the beginning.
#3. Increase Interlinking
Interlinking not only increases the SEO score but also keeps your readers get engaged with the content which helps to keep a better bounce rate.
People strive to reduce bounce rate of their blog and interlinking is the best practice. Every SEO monitoring tool considers it as a plus point.
Haven’t you noticed checking your domain authority and found the total number of links? The more you interlink, the more you add the value.
#4. Link To External Websites
If the content of any website is related to yours then you can link that website in your blog post. There are many evergreen posts written by experts which can help your audience.
Most of the SEO experts suggest not to be afraid of redirecting your readers to any other quality content website.
It’s one of the SEO tips for beginners which can really make their website better.
#5. Use Appropriate Categories
Along with every post, you should consider it in a better category. Most of the beginners make a mistake to publish their post in the uncategorized category.
It’s because WordPress has a default category which needs to be deleted just after installation. You should either rename the uncategorized category or delete it before start publishing.
The search engine crawling bots crawl everything. The single post and the category under which it’s published. It helps the search engine to show only query related content.
#6. Post Meta Description
It’s one of the most important places to optimize your blog post for SEO. Yoast SEO plugin has a special meta description box which allows you to add only the SEO-friendly description.
At the point you see the green signal like the title, it’s SEO-optimized. But it’s always recommended to add the post focus keyword in there.
This meta description gets indexed and is visible to all the social media platforms. Whenever any reader shares your posts, the meta description keeps showing.
#7. Add More Images With The Alt Text
Images increase the SEO score of the blog posts. The more you use the images, the more are the chances to get higher hits.
Yoast SEO plugin allows you to submit the image sitemap which is really effective because people can reach your website through Google images too.
Use the focus keyword as the alt text. But don’t overdo it.
#8. Don’t Exceed The Keyword Density Limit
For every blog post, the focus keyword density shouldn’t exceed 2.5%. Though most of the people keep it between 0.5% to 1% but if you add some extra bit then don’t exceed the 2.5% limit.
You wouldn’t like to get penalized by Google just because of the keyword stuffing. It’s one of the most sensitive matters to focus on.
You can see the score in the Yoast SEO scoreboard.

Also, a good permalink is also beneficial. It is not only good for your user but for bot crawler as well.

Beginners should now start focusing on creating a high-quality researched article of at least 2000 words to stand out in the crowd.
