How To Restore WordPress Site From Backup Using cPanel?

And if WordPres is the platform you are using then you should know all the things about it. No one knows about the future, what would you do if your website gets hacked?
To get ready for such situations, you should have the backup of your website and the database. But what would you do after that? In this post, I will walk you to restore WordPress site from backup so that you can use it on the right time.
Restore Website From Backup of Your WordPress Files And the Database.
You know that there are two things which build a website. The first consists all the files and folders of the WordPress and the second is the database of your website. If you have installed WordPress in the local server then you can use it the way you use it online.
There are many bloggers who have created their website on the offline server and then shifted to the online server. Do you know how to move WordPress from local server to the online server? Well, you should learn it. It would help you when you create your test website or any offline website.
The Things To Do To Restore WordPress site from Backup using cPanel.
There are some simple steps to follow.
Step 1:- First of all, you have to upload the backup of your website in the root directory of your web hosting account. If you want to add an addon domain then upload it on the subfolder. To do that login to your cPanel and open the file manager.
Step 2:- Use the upload option shown in the menu bar. A new tab would open to upload the file. Choose the file from your hard drive and upload it. Wait for the upload to get finished and then return to the root directory.
Step 3:- Extract the zip file in the root directory and delete the zip file. The task to restore website from backup is done. Now is the time to restore the backup of the database.
Step 4:- Before restoring, you have to create a database and the import the database from the hard drive. It can be done using the phpMyAdmin.
After creating the database, choose the name of the database from the left menu in the phpMyAdmin and then click on the “import” option from the menu bar above.
You have successfully uploaded the backup of the website and the database on your web hosting server. Now if you are getting the database establishing error then you have to edit the wp-config.php file and check the credential of the database name, username etc.

If you don’t want to use the way mentioned above then it can be done directly from the backup option just by clicking on the upload button.
You can restore website from backup from the place when you create the full website backup and the database backup. If you’re not running multiple websites on your web host then it would be the best place for you.
Step 1:- Go to the “files” section and click on the “Backups” option. A new tab would open for you.
Step 2:- Scroll down and you would see the options to upload the backup of the root directory and the database. Just choose the options and restore WordPress site from backup.
If you have created an email with your domain name then you can upload the email forwarders if any.
You can choose any of the ways according to your need. But if you want to upload the backup for an addon domain then you have to extract the zip file of the backup in the subfolder of that addon domain. Don’t extract in the root directory.
You have successfully restored the website from the backup. If you’re getting the login page refresh problem then you should solve it. The 500 error can also be solved. Just make sure that you match the database name, username, hostname in the wp-config.php file.
Can You Restore Website From backup now?
After going through the steps mentioned above. Can you do that your own? Can you restore the backup of the website and database using the cPanel? Though it’s an easy task but if you don’t have any idea about it then it would be quite tough for you.
Just follow the guide provided above and you would be able to restore your website within few minutes. The upload time is dependent upon the speed of your internet connection and the size of the backup. So don’t worry about it. You have to wait till the upload get finished.

There are many bloggers like you in the blogosphere who are struggling to understand these technical things. Though there is nothing hard, you can restore your website from the backup within few minutes.
Most of the bloggers failed to migrate the database and to establish the connection. It can be done using the phpMyAdmin or the direct upload option shown above.
