How To Add Video In WordPress Post Without Any plugin?

You know that in today’s era of digitalization, people prefer to see the visual content the most. With the evolution of the technology, WordPress has provided the freedom to add a video. But do you know how to add video in WordPress post?

In this post, I will provide an answer to your question. Yes, you can add a video in your blog posts or the pages. You can embed the video in WordPress. WordPress provides you the way to display the visual content effectively.

How To Add Video To WordPress Page?

First of all, you should know two factor of adding a video in your blog posts or pages. Either you can upload the video using the WordPress in the media library or you can embed it directly in the post.

There is a difference between both the ways. If you upload the video in the WordPress media library then you are using your own web hosting server. But if you embed the video directly in the blog post or the page then there won’t be any load on your web hosting server.

So, the best way to add a video is to embed it wherever you want to show the video. WordPress provides you the freedom to add an image in the sidebar.

Embed Video In WordPress Using A Simple Tag.

In the older versions of the WordPress, you had to embed the scripting code of the video in the page or the post. But in the newer versions, you can add a video just by using the embed option.

Let me show you the steps:-

Step 1:- Go to the video source from where you want to choose the video. Suppose, you want to add a video from YouTube. Play that video and copy the URL of that video from the address bar.

Step 2:- Click the “Text” option showing on the “top-right” position of your WordPress post editor.

Step 3:- Use the embed tag inserted between square brackets. Place the URL after that and then close the embed tag by adding slash “/” after the first bracket and then write embed and then the closing bracket. The sequence would be like “first bracket+embed+closing bracket+URL of the video+starting bracket+Slash “/”+embed+closing bracket”.

It’s the same thing you do while writing any HTML tag with the starting and an ending tag and the content to show in the between.

As you can see the video is showing and you can control it like you do on the YouTube. It is because you have just embedded the video in the post. You are still playing it from the YouTube server.
