How to change WordPress Password?
When you forget your password then you have a question as how to change WordPress password? There are some continuous steps you have to follow for getting your new password.
1). First of all, you should log in to your WordPress admin panel by adding the URL “http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-login.php“.
2). After this, a login window will appear to you where you have to fill your WordPress username and password. But if you have forgot your password then click on “lost your password” to get a new password.
3). A new screen will open where you will be asked to enter your e-mail or username to get a link from which you can reset the password. You should fill your e-mail at which you will be sent an e-mail including the link.
4). Again with a new screen, you will be informed to check your e-mail for the confirmation link. As I have said earlier that after clicking on the link you will be able to reset the password for your WordPress admin area.
5). After clicking the link shown in an e-mail you receive from WordPress you will come to a new window in which you have to fill your new password twice, one is to fill your new password and other to confirm it and then click to “reset password”.
6). A notification will be shown in front of you telling you that your password has been reset and now you can log in. Click to “log in” and again you come to the WordPress login area which you have seen earlier. You just have to fill your username and your new password and here you go to your WordPress dashboard.

The newbie will fully understand this that’s for sure. You know I can never remember my WordPress password. My password don’t make any sense and it can’t be found in the dictionary.
Plus, I have hundreds of passwords on different networks and social medias and I have installed “Passwords” appl on my iPhone who keeps and stores all of my passwords. Never use the same password on everything.
Angela
Hi Angela,
That’s the main problem that we use different password for different social networks and other websites that’s why there are chances that we may forget the password.
I just keep my passwords written in my dairy so that if I forget then I look there.
But beginners should know about the recovery of their password.
Thanks for being here every time.:)
Enjoy your day.
~Ravi
Hi Ravi,
Yes, I have forgotten my password and this is good information to know. Right now I use a tool that remembers all my passwords, but sometimes it has some issues, so it’s good to know what you’ve provided in this post. I also keep an Excel spreadsheet as well with all my passwords in it.
Everyone needs to know this and it’s a great post.
Thanks,
Barbara
Hi Barbara,
Many bloggers use some tools to keep their password face but in my opinion it’s better to keep them saved in your notes so that you can have a look whenever you want. Plugins are not that much trustworthy comparing to your own.
Thanks for taking time to say your words.
Have a wonderful day.:)

Passwords make me CRAZY!!
In the good old days (LOL), I had two that I interchanged between all my password protected sites.
Now I have so many and they are so complex that I’ve resorted to two archaic strategies:
1. I keep them all listed on a yellow paper index card in the drawer with my checkbooks (also archaic). A few I remember and a few are shared between two platforms – but generally I have to look at the card a few times per week. Especially when my browser decides it doesn’t want to remember anymore.
2. I use the “reset password” or “forgot password” option frequently. Thus resulting in more new passwords that I can’t remember!
Thank goodness it’s possible to recover and reset lost passwords, as you showed so well in this post Ravi. The panic of being locked out of WordPress would be unbearable!
Thanks for the great instructions!
Enjoy your upcoming weekend.
Warmly,
Deborah
Hi Deborah,
Yeah! for sure these strategies are going to work. Even I too keep my passwords and all necessary stuff related to my websites aside in my notes.
It’s hard to remember all the passwords so sometimes I look upon them and try to remember then but for security purpose I need to change the passwords in a regular interval of time.
Beginners should know that they can change their WordPress admin password.
We can’t take risks to get restricted by WordPress.
Thanks for taking time to put your wonderful input.:)
Enjoy your day.:)

Hi Ravi
Passwords are the bane of my life. I must have hundreds!! It beats me why I need to enter a password to do some of the mundane things that are password protected.
However, my WP site I accept needs password protecting – and yes I’ve forgotten it many times. I wish your tutorial had been around to help me then.
There’s no way I could remember all my password, or even write them down, so I use two different password-savers. I also let my browser remember it – but even so, it still sometimes gets forgotten – so that’s a useful tutorial.
Have a great weekend. Joy

Hey Ravi,
I think that I am a little bit late here. But never mind, better late than never. The mere hearing of the word “Password” brings a little shiver to me. What if I forget? Because there are so many accounts here & there with so many passwords that sometimes I lose track of them. Therefore I always write down on a word document when I create them.
Though if you forget your WordPress Blog’s password, then you can able to reset it. But here you have to follow some procedures. Thanks to you for this tutorials with suitable pictures. It will definitely help many to recover password of WP Blog.
