While running a WordPress website, you can get RSS feed error. Do you know how to fix RSS feed error for your WordPress website?
This error can occur due to many reasons. It may happen due to any change in the plugins and the themes.
If you update or install any new plugin or the theme, the RSS feed error can be seen. The main reason is the wrong coding.
When you install a new plugin, its markup may not match the WordPress core or any other existing plugin and the coding style gets changed.
Know One More Reason Due To Which This Error Occurs
Many users copy and paste the code to their WordPress theme files and break their website. When they add an extra markup and forget to check whether its authenticity, it results in an error.
Most of the time, its because of the white space or something extra. If you add even an extra comma, it will cause many problems.
A single bracket can stop the working of the whole file.
It’s important to know the proper way to add custom code in WordPress before copying and pasting.
Manually Find And Fix RSS Error
This can be tricky because, for non-techie people, it would be hard to check the codes of the WordPress files.
The functions.php file is one of the main files and people add an extra code in this file. But they forget to check whether there is already any PHP end tag or not.
For this file, you don’t need the PHP ending tag.
The error may be showing the line number. If that’s the case, you can easily check it. Just open the file and look for something unusual.
Though it can be done only if you have expertise in coding but still, you can try.
In most of the cases, the reason may be an extra space, the end tag or any bracket. Try to find it otherwise, look for the next solution.
Use A Plugin To Solve The RSS Error Problem
This is the simplest way which doesn’t require any kind of technical knowledge.
Just install and activate Fix My Feed RSS Repair plugin and go to Tools>>RSS Feed Fix and the plugin setting page will appear.
It consists only a button. Click on the “Fix Feed” button and you’re done. Yes, nothing extra is required.
It will show you a message “Fix Applied Successfully” and you can check it by following the link given. It will show you the full RSS feed of your WordPress website.
You can understand it only if you have the proper knowledge of the XML language. Check your website if the error got fixed or not.
You can check it using the Feed Validator. Just add the URL of your website’s RSS feed and it will show you the result.
Which Method Would You Prefer To Fix RSS Feed Error
I know most of the WordPress users would go with the plugin method as it’s easy to use and no time waste.
But if you’re good with coding then it would be great to check it manually. It will help you know more about WordPress.
As mentioned above, it’s really important to check the code before you place it anywhere on your website. I hope you can easily fix RSS feed error. If have any doubt, feel free to ask.
