HI Ravi, what a great post! I love how you have so many useful examples linked into your responses. I’ve found with the spam is not so much stopping the spam on their new site, but stopping the notifications that they’re gained a spam comment is a bigger problem!

People get a lot of spam comments if the spam protection isn’t active. I agree that somehow it’s frustrating to get the notifications for the spam comments and the list goes on and on.
Every beginner tries to get rid of it. But unfortunately, it is dependent upon the plugin you use. Akismet shows the list of the spam comments whether few others don’t.

WordPress is no doubt the #1 platform for bloggers. I always prefer to use minimum plugins to improve my page loading speed. I most important thing, I foucs more is on security of my blog. Becuase recently I have lost my one blog. Thats why I have tightened the security of my new blog. I am also using light weight themes to improve my site performance.

Matter of fact, I asked a lot of them myself. And being able to get answers from WordPress experts like you has been remarkable.
As you mentioned, however, spam comments is one pain into neck that doesn’t send to go. I was able to install Akismet plugin to control it. Even at that, it’s a lot better now than before.
