The Steps Required to Enable CloudFlare

To accomplish your goal, you need to follow this step by step guide. There is nothing complicated. You just have to do the exact same as I am going to mention here.

Step 1: – Login to your cPanel and look for the Site Improvement tools. CloudFlare will be there.

Click on the icon.

Step 2: – A new page will get opened and you will see your domain name. If you’re running multiple domains, you just need to select the domain for which, you want to enable the CDN.

Click on the “Activate Free” button.

Step 3: – You will see a popup which will be asking about the CloudFlare account. It will show the email ID you have created your account on Siteground.

If you’re using any other email address on CloudFlare then you can use that.

If you don’t have an account then just click on the “Proceed” button.

Step 4: – Once again, you will be asked to check whether your website works with “www”. If not, then you have to reconfigure the settings.

What does that really mean?

It means that the URL of your website should be opened for both “www” and without it. Though it’s not asking for a “non-www” URL, you should have it working properly.

Click on the “Yes” button.

Step 5: – The system will check if your website is accessible with “www”. If it does, within a few seconds, the CloudFlare will get activated.

You will see the status for your domain name.

If you wish to change a few settings, you can manage it by using the option shown.

The whole process seems too big but it won’t take more than one minute. You just have to keep proceeding and the system will automatically fetch the settings.

You can also setup CloudFlare with W3 Total Cache plugin. People get confused if they are allowed to use the caching plugin and the CDN together.

I just want to clarify that you can use both but the minifying or caching settings should be done only in one from both.

If you use minify features of W3 Total Cache and the CloudFlare, it can conflict.

But here, you’re using the built-in CDN from web hosting which doesn’t create any problem. But if you want to use those features, you can enable by accessing its settings.
